Question: Why is it, Dr. Andrews, that you do not answer more questions? I really like your blog and visit every day. I am always hoping that there is a new answer. But usually, there is not. Why do you not do more with this blog? Why don't you have an answer everyday? Mel Perth, Nassau, Bahamas
Answer: There are several reason why I don't have a more active blog. Primarily, I only answer questions that either interest me or through which I think I might be able to help someone. Most of the questions I have recently received deal with politicians or Anna Nicole Smith. I have absolutely no interest in Smith and very little in politicians. While the blog is international in scope, in reality, it has become more of a blog for people in the United States. You Mel, being from the Bahamas, may have some interest in Smith. But I do not. You Mel, being from the Bahamas, may not have any interest in American politicians. And I have very little. But most of my recent questions have dealt with American politicians who are already running for President of our country. For me, it is simply way too early to be bothered by such nonsense. I really do not begin to get interested until after both political conventions. And I almost always already know by then for whom I will vote. Consequently, American politics is boring and pointless for me. I do vote but I waste very little of my time reading about politicians or watching them on television.
This reminds me of a question I just received about Al Gore and the Oscars. I have addressed the issue of global warming in a previous answer but this reminds me of Benjamin Franklin's saying "Don't waste time . . . for that is the stuff that life is made of." I simply will not give Al Gore and the Oscars any of my time (any of my life). I say this because I do not think that they are worth any of my life (time). Al Gore is completely and totally irrelevant to me as are the Oscars. Neither mean a single thing to me. Why would I spend any of my time (life) considering either of them? Do you see what I mean? This is why I chose not to respond to the question about the Oscars and Al Gore. This is one of the major reasons I do not have a daily blog answer for you.
I do appreciate that you enjoy my blog and wish it were done daily. But I have no interest in doing a daily blog. I am content to answer one or two questions a month.
